This will be a basic introduction to the Latin language and some of the culture and history of the ancient Roman world.  The aim is to give a reasonable grounding in the language, to understand the similarities and differences between Latin and English and to start to learn some of the vocabulary and structure of the Latin language.  It is not going to give you the ability to start a conversation in Latin, but you might be able to get your head round some of the ways that Latin has survived into our own language.  The sessions will run in room 121 during the Wednesday enrichment slot and will last throughout the year starting immediately.

Meeting on a Wednesday 3pm – 4pm in room 101
