Business Admin – Level 3
What is Business Administration?
Business Administration involves organising people and resources efficiently and can be based within public or private sector organisations. Processes can include planning, organising, staffing, directing, controlling and budgeting. This course is for people who want to work in any aspect of business administration in roles such as Receptionist, Administrator, Personal Assistant, Office Supervisor or Team Leader.
Why should I study this qualification?
These qualifications are suitable those who are working with some autonomy and personal responsibility within a business environment. The qualifications can reflect their current role if they are involved in developing, implementing or maintaining administrative services and may also be suitable for those in, or preparing for, a line management role.
Course structure & content
Attendance is 2-hours a week for 34-36 weeks and you will study the following mandatory units totalling 13 credits:
- Manage own performance in a business environment
- Evaluate and improve own performance in a business environment
- Work in a business environment
- Communicate in a business environment
Additional units, totalling 11 credits, will need to be complete to achieve the qualification.
How will I be assessed?
You will prepare a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the subject. Your portfolio will include all the work you have completed and it must be submitted at the end of the course in order to achieve the qualification. You must bring a pen, writing paper and a ring binder file to lessons.
In addition to attending a 2-hour session each week you should allow 3-4 hours a week for further study. It is essential that you aim to achieve 100% attendance in order to cover the specific course criteria.
This qualification is available to anyone who is capable of reaching the required standards. They have been developed free from any barriers that restrict access or progression thereby promoting equal opportunities. On starting the course you will complete initial assessments in literacy and numeracy to ascertain your current level. This will enable the tutor to meet your learning needs and provide additional support if required.
The Level 3 Diploma qualifications will allow progression to the Level 4 NVQ Certificate and Diploma qualifications. Learners achieving these qualifications may also progress directly into employment, or progress within already existing employment as they provide accreditation of competence in the workplace.
