Course fees and Support

There is the possibility of fee remission for some of our courses from entry level to level 3 qualifications.

You may not be charged a course fee if you are:

  • Aged 19-23 enrolling on your first course at entry level up to and including level 2.
  • Aged 19-23 enrolling on your first level 3 as part of your legal entitlement and/or qualifications from the level 3 adult offer.
  • Aged 19+ Studying Functional Skills Maths, English or ESOL up to and including Level 2.
  • Aged 19+ and assessed at below level 1: Essential Digital Skills Qualification up to and including level 1.
  • Aged 19+ and unemployed, seeking employment, earn below £27,400, and live in Tees Valley or receiving Job Seekers Allowance, Universal Credit, Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit, Income Support, Employment Support Allowance.

Some Level 3 courses may require you to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan. This loan will pay for your course fees while studying. You maybe be able to access the bursary fund to support your study. This can help alleviate the cost of travel, childcare and provide you with the relevant materials and technology you need to complete the course.

There is also an opportunity for childcare and transport to be paid while completing your Qualification.

On site we have a Montessori Nursery, where childcare can be provided while you complete courses at the college.

You may be eligible for financial assistance for childcare if you are aged over 20. Your entitlement to the 20+ Childcare fund is dependent of the following criteria:

  • Your household income must be below £23,000
  • Childminders or agencies used must be registered with Ofsted
  • Learners must provide evidence of household income

Learners aged under 20 may be able to access Care to Learn for support with childcare. For more advice go to www.gov.uk/care-to-learn.
