COVID-19 statement for University and College Admissions Teams
Students at Prior Pursglove and Stockton Sixth Form College had face to face teaching suspended on 20th March 2020 and remote learning began on Monday 23rd March 2020 in line with the government lockdown and closure of schools and colleges.
Lessons were delivered via Microsoft Teams with students having a minimum of 2 live lessons per week per subject with independent study tasks to complete between sessions. Students received feedback on work completed at least once a week. This continued until the end of the academic year.
Students who were having problems accessing remote learning due to a lack of equipment were loaned laptops as quickly as possible.
The college partially reopened on 15th June for a gradual phased return for Y12 students. The initial sessions were limited to very small numbers and focused on wellbeing and progression. In the current academic year, the now Y13 students returned to college on the 3rd/4th September following a transition timetable for the first 2 weeks. This comprised of 2 hours face to face teaching per week with the remaining 2.5 hours taught remotely through Teams or independent tasks. From 21st September the students have returned to college full time. The students have fully complied with the COVID-19 safety measures put in place to minimise the risk of infection and the college has contingency plans in place if local or national restrictions are imposed.
