In accordance with government guidelines, students at Prior Pursglove and Stockton Sixth Form College spent a significant part of their GCSE and Y12 A level education learning remotely.
From September 2020, the current Year 13 students were subject to a hybrid timetable where lessons were delivered via Microsoft Teams with students having a minimum of 2 live lessons per week per subject with independent study tasks to complete between sessions. Students received feedback on work completed at least once a week.
Teaching and learning moved fully online during the lockdown periods. Students who were having problems accessing remote learning due to a lack of equipment were loaned laptops as quickly as possible.
During lockdown the college remained open to vulnerable learners such as those with an EHCP or specific learning needs, those with ongoing mental health conditions and students whose homeworking conditions proved to be a barrier to learning.
