Amazing A level results success for newly merged sixth form college

This results day is an historic one for Prior Pursglove and Stockton Sixth Form College, the first sixth form colleges to merge in over 18 years, whose students have achieved excellent outcomes:

 A level results include:

  • Pass rate over 98%
  • Vast majority of subjects 100% pass rate
  • Best ever number of A* grades
  • Overwhelming majority of students achieved or exceeded expected grades

Joanna Bailey, Principal of Prior Pursglove and Stockton Sixth Form College, said:

Prior Pursglove College:


An astounding result for former Hillsview Academy pupil and Prior Pursglove College student Aaron Green, who has achieved an amazing A*A*A*A* in Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths and Physics. He will go onto The University of Bath to study Chemical Engineering. He is Prior Pursglove College’s highest achiever this year!



An amazing achievement for ex-Laurence Jackson pupil and Prior Pursglove College student Anna McGairy, she has accepted a place at the prestigious Cambridge University to study Natural Sciences after achieving A*A*A* in Biology, Further Maths, Geology.



Ex-Sacred Heart pupil and Prior Pursglove College student Jonathan Crossman has successful secured his place to study Chemical Engineering at Leeds University by achieving a fantastic AAA*A* in Chemistry, Further Maths, Biology and Maths.



We are extremely proud of our only successful veterinary applicant, Beth Johnston. The former Rye Hills pupil and Prior Pursglove College student has achieved A*AA in Chemistry, Biology and Maths. She will go on to The University of Edinburgh to study Veterinary Medicine.


Former Lauren Jackson pupil and Prior Pursglove College student Thomas Rogerson is celebrating this results day after securing a prestigious Advanced Apprenticeship with Jaguar garages.



Former Laurence Jackson pupil and Prior Pursglove College student Calum Jack Potter, has achieved an amazing AAA*A* in Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Maths. He will go on to study Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London.


Stockton Sixth Form College:



Congratulations to Dmytro Drobisher who has successfully gained A*in Maths; A in Computer Science; B in English Language and DS* in BTEC Applied Science. Originally from Ukraine, Dmytro came to Stockton Sixth Form and impressed everyone with his hard work and outstanding achievements.  He has been a real asset to teachers and students alike and we are sure he will go on to enjoy a successful time at university where he will study Computer Science.


Victoria WIlson

An excellent result for Victoria Wilson who has gained a place at Liverpool University to study Veterinary Medicine with A* Biology and a C in Further Maths. Victoria has shown tremendous determination to reach her goals having already completed and passed her A2 courses in Biology, Chemistry, Critical Thinking, Extended Project and Maths.  Victoria is over the moon that she is on her way to achieving her dream of becoming a vet and so are we.




The winner of our Contribution to College ACE Award, Megan Clarke has achieved A* Religious Studies; A*Extended Project; A Law; B History. Megan has contributed so much to Stockton Sixth Form during her time here that we will be very sorry to see her go. She has been an enormous asset to the college as a student ambassador and we are immensely proud that all of the hard work she has put in has translated into such fantastic results which she can take with her to Durham University where she will be studying Theology.



Ethan Gren, a former Conyers pupil, has worked exceptionally hard to gain A*Maths A*Sociology A in Further Maths and D* in BTEC Law and we are all very proud of the progress he has made. During his time here at college Ethan has shown great commitment to his studies as well as to his job working with the Police Surveillance team. We are sure he will go on to make a great success of his time at Newcastle University where he will study Law.




A fantastic result for former OLSB pupil, Nathan Mitchell who received AAAA* in Biology, Maths, Chemistry and Extended Project. Nathan has been a popular student who has made the most of his time here at Stockton Sixth Form. He will be going on to study Medicine at Hull York University. What a great achievement.
