Former Prior Pursglove College students attends awards ceremony at the British Film Institute in London

Former Prior Pursglove College student Samuel Burt (ex-Sacred Heart) attended the WJEC Moving Image Awards at the British Film Institute in London last week for his short film produced as part of his A Level coursework for Film Studies. He was also awarded with a certificate for his work.

The awards ceremony was hosted by the legendary Iyare Igiehon (Future Film and BBC 6 Music); joined by special guests Guy Bishop (Production Manager, The Last Letter From Your Lover,) esteemed Film Critic Anna Smith (Four weddings and a Funeral) and established Film Script Editor, Kate Leys (Girls on Film Podcast).

Sam’s highly commended short film, The Operation can be viewed on PriorShorts, the Prior Pursglove film studies YouTube channel.  The film is a fast paced, tense, action / comedy short involving two highly competitive surgeons performing a very challenging operation.

The judging team listed Prior Pursglove as one of the Commended Centres, displaying excellence in the form of Film Production work.

Sam is an outstanding filmmaker; making short films and other film production work in his spare time, and is currently studying for his degree in Film Production at the Northern School of Art.
