Prior Pursglove College pauses to remember fallen
Staff and students at Prior Pursglove College joined the region in pausing to remember those who lost their lives in the two World Wars and later conflicts in a special service at 11am on Friday 10th November.
The annual ceremony, led by Principal Joanna Bailey, was attended by staff, students and pupils from Laurence Jackson School.
College students and pupils from Laurence Jackson School read aloud poems, letters and stories of remembrance and observed a poignant two minutes’ silence before laying wreaths at a place of memorial.
Joanna Bailey, Principal of Prior Pursglove and Stockton Sixth Form College, said: “Each year staff and students come together to remember those who sacrificed so much in past and present conflicts.
“We joined to observe the national two minutes’ silence and also marked the tribute with moving readings and personal stories.
“The event was a fitting tribute to our heroic servicemen and women.”
