Meningitis immunisation at college

Meningitis B immunisations will be available at college. We are waiting on confirmed dates from the pharmacy team and will update this page as soon as we have them.

You do not need to wait for the college sessions. This is part of the NHS meningitis B (MenB) vaccination programme for young people, and eligible students can book now.

If you are 17 or 18 and were born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008, you can book a free appointment at nhs.uk/book-menb or by calling 119. You need to be registered with a GP surgery in England.

If you are starting university, or moving into college accommodation for the first time this autumn, you may be able to get the vaccine as a walk-in at a participating pharmacy. Take evidence of your university or college offer with you. Details are on the same NHS page.

The vaccine is given in two doses, at least four weeks apart.
