We have a large support network available for all students who may need extra help in certain areas including financial, careers, work experience, pastoral and learning support. We also have qualified counsellors here to listen and provide a confidential service and help students with personal and emotional problems that are preventing them from getting the most out of college.
Pathway Leaders
You will have your own pathway leader who is able to focus on your particular needs, giving you help, advice and encouragement to make sure you are progressing as you should. You meet on a regular basis to discuss any issues you feel are important. There are subject reviews each year and consultation evenings for you and your parents to discuss your progress. You also receive help from your pathway leader weekly to gain appropriate knowledge, skills and practical help to guide you through your courses, broaden your awareness and prepare you for the future.
Learning Support
As well as the help you receive from your subject teachers and pathway leader, we also offer additional support when you need it to help you complete your studies successfully. If you have a specific learning difficulty or disability our experienced team is able to support with, for example, dyslexia, dyspraxia, physical disability, visual impairment, hearing impairment or English as a second language. The support we offer is designed to provide all individuals with what they need to succeed on their chosen course. This may include one-to-one support, British Sign Language communicators, personal care, equipment and resources, assessment and exam arrangements.
Additionally, we can offer more practical help in organisation and time management. Make sure that you discuss any support needs at your college interview and we will begin to put things in place for when you start your studies with us.
